Auto Biped Rigger

While surfing other people, auto riggers blew my mind at first. I just couldn’t comprehend how to come up with something like this. It seemed like this is a thing that every rigger had to have their own. With very little knowledge and experience, I decided to create my own. I started with creating a shoulder-elbow-wrist joint chain by reference locators. Then IK, FK joint chains, controllers, stretch, hierarchy cleanup etc.. I got myself a working arm module! It was very crucial for me as a learning project for Maya and Python. Also a good reminder of how fun it is to build something step by step.

Video down below is a recent(by this post) reupload. I first uploaded it at June 2018. First version had similiar functionality and UI but coding was terrible. I managed to delete 10 thousand lines by refactoring over time. I’m happy where it’s at right now but of course it has some TODOs.
